Neoen’s Goyder South is located near Burra in the Mid North of SA. Neoen has approval for a wind farm, solar farm, and a grid-scale battery. The 412 MW Goyder South Stage 1 wind farm is currently under construction.  

OUR INVOLVEMENT: 

EBS, now part of the Umwelt team, performed ecological surveys and assessments, prepared approvals documentation, provided ongoing project approvals support and assisted with meeting approval conditions during the construction and operational phases of the project. Key tasks included:  

  • Baseline flora and fauna surveys including targeted threatened species surveys and assessments  
  • Significant impact assessments for a variety of species and communities of national conservation significance 
  • Preparation of approval documentation under the EPBC Act and state Native Vegetation Act and the development of associated environmental offsets strategies 
  • Development of a range of management plans for the construction phase of the project 
  • Providing ongoing support for the implementation of approval conditions 
  • Completion of detailed surveys and relocation activities for the Pygmy Blue-tongue Lizard 

OUTCOME:  

The elements of the project delivered have supported Neoen in effectively identifying, managing, mitigating, and offsetting project impacts. This large project will provide significant value to the local community, including some of the most significant on-ground offsets in South Australia.
